This is the seventh review in the series “12 Beers of Christmas” – Everyday for 12 days we will have a review on a Christmas/Winter beer.
Elf, National Lampoon Christmas Vacation, Miracle on 34th Street, Die Hard, The Santa Clause, and Home Alone.
Let those movies soak in…. Now which one doesn’t belong….
Die Hard right? Of course. That was easy. It sticks out like a sore thumb. But if you remember our friend John McClane was trying to reconcile with his wife on Christmas Eve before the shit went down and everything started to blow up. What I am trying to say is that at first glance not everything is what it seems. Just like Die Hard is a great Christmas movie. Saucony Creek Brewing Company – Chocolate Cherry Schnickelfritz Milk Stout is a fantastic winter brew!
This fantastic stout is a wonderful beer that is good year round but I think really comes to life near the holidays. This is a brew that is suited for the cold months. First it warms you up on the first sip with its velvety smooth texture as a hint of cherry takes over when it first touches your lip. As you finish that first swig the chocolate comes through at the end and lingers on your tongue making you want to bring that glass right back to your mouth. This is a beer that you will most certainly savor and not just chug down trying to taste exactly when the cherry finishes and the chocolate takes over. Not to mention that at 8% you will not be wanting to slam this milk stout down.
Like I said before. Looking at this I would not of thought winter/holidays (Hell look at the label. Is that holidays??). But don’t judge this book by its cover. Go pick up a bottle and enjoy it this holiday season. You will not be disappointed!
