Rogue – Brutal IPA

photo 1Here’s  the first beverage for the NYE festivities. With the new year coming I’d like to reflect on the good times that happened this year, my daughters first birthday, my son almost becoming potty trained, almost…. completing two half marathons and all the excellent brews I have experienced.  And I look forward to those new great craft beers to taste in the new year. I haven’t yet, but need to try the new craze of sour beers, I hear it will change my life.

photo 2The Rogue Brutal IPA is a delicious, well balanced IPA.  It pours out a nice pale copper color, the citrusy hop bite is not as pungent as some American IPAs, but it suits the beer well. This IPA measures in at a modest 6.0% compared to some other American IPAs.
I’d love to try this as a cask conditioned; it has characteristics of an English pale ale.  I’d recommend this to anyone who is venturing into the world of IPAs because the hop bitterness is not that overpowering and to those seasoned veterans who enjoy a well balanced brew.
