On Saturday, August 30, 2014 Bill and Michelle Larkin of Arsenal Cider House & Wine Cellar added room for 256 MORE friends!
Located in the back of the Cider House at 300 39th Street in Lawrenceville, PA, the newly designed and opened Cider Garden is a large open air hang out that provides ample space to enjoy their ciders and the fellowship of the Pittsburgh drinking community.
There are 7 large tables that seat between 8 and 12 people depending on how friendly you want to be that have huge positionable umbrellas that provide shade from the sun. If you prefer the warmth of the PA sun while you sip on a cold refreshing Archibald’s Ado amber semi-sweet cider then there is plenty of room to throw down a blanket and lounge in the grassy area.
There is also plenty of standing room around the perimeter along the high privacy fencing that becomes a perfect spot to place your growler between refills of your glass.
The Grand Opening event itself was very well attended, even with our earlier arrival there were already about 85 people in attendance and we watched atleast 20 leaving the cider house with multiple growlers in hand. The event still had 6 hours full of live music, cider enthusiasts, sunshine and treats provided by Butcher on Butler. We wish we could have stayed longer to see the sheer number of friends came out in support of the new garden, but we just didnt have the time on this holiday weekend.
Bill and Michelle seemed very pleased with the results of the Grand Opening even up to the point we talked to them and in a small address to the supports there at the time, he announced his intention to throw a Garden Party monthly!
Keep an eye out on our Facebook page as well as following Arsenal Cider for the next announced party and we will likely meet you there!
